Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh says there will be a harsh response to the IDF's antiterror operation in Jenin.
He called on the Arab residents of Judea and Samaria to "stand to the right of the residents of Jenin and to foil the enemy's plans."
Haniyeh stated that "the blood spilled on the ground of Jenin will characterize the next step from all directions. Our nation and its resistance organizations in every place know how to respond to this barbaric aggression."
Hamas spokesperson Hazim Qasim stated: "This large-scale aggression against Jenin will not obtain its goals, and the Zionist enemy will fail."
According to him, "The extremist fascist enemy government led by Netanyahu the criminal bear the responsibility for the aggression against Jenin. Jenin has proven throughout history that it is a hard nut to crack and has a fantastic ability to stand firm against the enemy.
Senior Hamas official Abd al-Rahman Shadid threatened that "the Palestinian people and the resistance organizations will crush the Zionist occupation military's hopes to break the resistance in Jenin. Our combatants in Jenin are running a campaign of strength and pride over all of Palestine, not just in the Jenin camp or city."
Hamas spokesperson Mohammad Hamada expressed his faith that "the occupation will leave Jenin defeated just as it did in 2002 during the al-Aqsa intifada.
