US military official warns: Stay away from IRGC headquarters if tensions escalate

A U.S. military official told Iran International that the United States is concerned about the safety and security of the Iranian people and urges them to stay at home and distance themselves from IRGC forces and centres in the event of an escalation of military tensions.

The IRGC has deployed military equipment and facilities, including weapons and command centres, in residential neighbourhoods and near people's homes, the official said.

He accused the leaders of the Islamic Republic and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of using innocent civilians as "human shields" while hiding themselves in fortified facilities and underground bunkers. According to the official, such behavior shows that the Islamic Republic does not care about the Iranian people.

The US military official urged Iranian citizens to take precautions, stay at home and stay away from IRGC headquarters in the event of an escalation of military tensions.

He stressed that in the eyes of the United States, during a period of heightened tensions, the safest place for Iranian civilians is inside their homes.

The warning comes amid reports in recent days about the readiness of the United States and Israel to resume attacks on Iran. The New York Times reported November 3 that the US military is preparing for the possibility of resumption of operations with the deployment of more warships, fighter jets and bombers in the region. According to the report, the implementation of the attack plan will depend on Donald Trump's decision.

In an interview with the Financial Times published on November 3, Trump said, He said.Washington has no immediate plans to attack Iran, but it is prepared to continue the war if necessary. Earlier, Axios also reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to attack Iran immediately after the US midterm elections, while Trump prefers to give negotiations more time.
