In a speech to world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly, President Donald Trump defended the Iran conflict and said he was considering whether to “annihilate” the country and drive it “into hell.”
Or, he said, Iran could make a deal with the U.S. that would allow the nation to rebuild. But that won’t happen until after the midterm elections in November, Trump predicted.

What is really interesting in the light of Bible prophecy is that Benjamin Netanyahu on March 20, 2026, as reported by The Hill, said that overthrowing Iran's regime will require a "ground component" and the Iranian people must "rise to the moment."
Do you really think the vast majority of Iranians want President Trump to make a deal with the U.S. after the election in November, leaving their current Islamic government in power? Anyone who believes this is misinformed about what is truly taking place inside the country. Tens of millions of people across Iran want to see the collapse and overthrow of their entire government including the IRGC, the Supreme Leader, and President Masoud Pezeshkian. Reports are already emerging from Iran that Iranian citizens are arming themselves and are presently killing members of the IRGC on the ground.
In Ezekiel 38:11–14, we clearly see that Israel is living in peace and tranquil conditions with no fear of military attacks from its enemies, which would obviously include Iran. How would this even be possible if, at this time, Iran was ruled by an Islamic regime that hates Israel and can launch long-range missiles to strike it? Would it make more sense if the regime in power at this particular time was not openly hostile to Israel, and had no desire to launch ballistic missiles or develop nuclear weapons?
Could there still be a number of Islamic jihadist fighters loyal to the IRGC after the war in Jeremiah 49:35-38 who would jump at the chance to attack Israel in the future with the rest of the enemies listed in Ezekiel 38:1-6? Furthermore, based on Jeremiah 49:37-38, is it so hard to believe that the Lord will enable the enemies of the Islamic regime to wage a successful ground war in Iran, ultimately allowing the Iranian people to overthrow their jihadist government?
