Watch: Navy trains to protect against maritime infiltrations, attacks on gas rigs

Israeli Navy holds major exercise in two seas to implement lessons learned during the war, preparing for scenarios of maritime infiltrations, multi-arena combat, and aerial threats, among others.

The Israeli Navy held a large-scale branch-wide exercise in both the Mediterranean and Red Seas this week, led by the Missile Ship Flotilla, in cooperation with the Submarine Flotilla, Patrol Squadrons, the operation headquarters, and other elements. Hundreds of sailors and a variety of vessels participated in the exercise. According to the IDF, the exercise was held as part of the lessons learned from the war over the past three years.

During the exercise, the troops trained for scenarios of maritime infiltrations, multi-arena combat, aerial threats, fire operations, and the protection of strategic assets, including gas rigs, Israeli ports, and national infrastructure. Additionally, simulations were conducted in the Red Sea in conjunction with the Navy Operational Headquarters to enhance the control, synchronization, and cooperation capabilities among the units.

The IDF said the maritime domain is a strategic arena and that the Israeli Navy continues to adapt its capabilities to evolving challenges, protect Israel’s security, economic, and energy assets, and identify and thwart threats in real time. (Source)
