Hezbollah fires missiles at central Israel on Passover eve

Hezbollah fires two surface-to-surface missiles toward central Israel on Passover eve, hours after a major Iranian ballistic missile barrage. One missile intercepted, the second lands in open area.

Hezbollah terrorists on Wednesday evening fired two surface-to-surface missiles from Lebanon towards central Israel. The launches, which came as Israelis mark the start of the holiday of Passover, triggered sirens in Tel Aviv and the area, as well as south of that area, in Ashdod, Ashkelon and the Central Coastal Plain. One of the missiles was successfully intercepted, and the second one landed in an open area. Magen David Adom said no reports of injuries were received.

The missiles from Lebanon came hours after the Iranian regime launched an unusually large salvo of eight to ten ballistic missiles toward central Israel. In some locations, missile sirens sounded five times within a few minutes. Following the barrage, rescue forces were dispatched to several impact sites in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Bnei Brak, and Savyon.

Magen David Adom teams searched ten different scenes from which calls were received and found no physical injuries. At the same time, they treated a small number of people suffering from anxiety and five cases of injuries sustained by civilians on their way to protected areas. IDF spokesman Effie Defrin addressed the citizens of Israel on Wednesday, shortly before the onset of Passover, amid Operation Roaring Lion against Iran, and warned of the possibility of missile launches at the country during the holiday.
