Katz to Erdogan: 'Genocide' charges more fitting for Turkey's 'massacres' of Kurds

Israel’s defense minister rebuked Turkey’s move to charge Netanyahu and IDF leaders with “genocide,” calling the warrants “ridiculous.”

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz denounced Turkey's issuing of arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and 36 other members of Israel’s senior political and military leadership on charges of “genocide,” stating that the charges would be better applied to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a Sunday post on X/Twitter.

"Take those ridiculous arrest warrants and get the hell out of here," Katz wrote, in both Turkish and Hebrew-language posts. The warrants are "more fitting for the massacres you've committed against the Kurds," Katz accused in the message, which he addressed to Erdogan.

Erdogan will "only be able to see Gaza through binoculars," Katz added, rejecting the proposal that Turkish military forces could form part of the Gaza peacekeeping force. "Israel is strong and unafraid," Katz affirmed, while sharing an AI-generated image of Erdogan looking at Gaza through binoculars with the Israeli flag over the lenses. (Read More)
