Thousands of tourists to arrive in this city? 1,400 new hotel rooms planned along the coastline

Two plots in the Ir Yamim neighborhood of Ashkelon, adjacent to the seashore and bordering a nature reserve, are being put up for tender in a new marketing initiative by the Israel Land Authority, in collaboration with the Tourism Ministry The tender, numbered YAM/241/2025, is designated for the development of two complexes for hotels and commercial use, as part of the broader "Balut Complex" development plan - a large-scale initiative covering about 26.5 hectares in the northern part of the city.

The “Balut Complex” includes a designated hotel area covering approximately 6.5 hectares, planned to include around 1,400 guest rooms. On the eastern side of the complex, a residential neighborhood with 716 housing units is planned, creating a city mix of housing, tourism, commerce, and nature, featuring promenades, scenic routes, and sea lookouts.

This is considered one of the most attractive development areas in the city, with direct access to the beach, a stretch of open spaces, convenient transportation links, and proximity to the prestigious Barnea G neighborhood. (Ed note: Located right on the Mediterranean coast, Ashkelon is 12 miles north of Gaza and about 46 miles northeast to Jerusalem.) (Read More)
