US will not attend Israel two-state conference at UN, State Dept says

The United States
will not attend an upcoming conference on an Israel two-state solution, State Department deputy spokesperson Tommy Pigott told reporters during a press briefing on Thursday. A conference regarding the two-state solution is scheduled to take place later in the month at the United Nations. Trump's administration discouraged governments around the world from attending a UN conference in June on the subject.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters in a Monday briefing that she wasn't sure if US President Donald Trump would have a message for countries attending the conference. "I think the president’s message on this conflict in the Middle East, which has been going on for a long time and has become quite brutal - especially in Gaza - is clear: The president doesn’t like to see that," she said. "He wants the killing to end, to negotiate a ceasefire in this region, and he wants to see all of the hostages released from Gaza.

That has been a top priority for this president.” US Ambassador Mike Huckabee said in January “I’ll be very surprised if [Trump] comes and says, ‘Let’s go out there and get a two-state solution,.” This is a developing story.  (Source)
