Other Syrian opposition groups will reportedly take action against the leadership of President Ahmed al-Sharaa, the report added, noting feelings of discontent rising among residents in the area.
These reports come amid speculation that Syria may join the Abraham Accords, which started after Shaara's meeting with US President Donald Trump in Saudi Arabia. Sources told Al-Akhbar that some Syrian opposition factions are holding secret meetings in Turkey. These meetings are aimed at requesting training and weapons support from armed groups who may come into potential confrontation with the new Syrian administration's forces should it proceed with normalization with Israel, according to Al-Akhbar. Some of these groups affirm their support for Sharaa's efforts to preserve the country's unity, but at the same time, they reject any form of relations with Israel, the report added. (Source)
