A White House delegation headed by Vice President Kamala Harris’ national security adviser, Phil Gordon, will arrive in Israel on Monday to discuss “the day after” the war in Gaza and the Biden administration's policy for the Israeli-Palestinian issue after the war, Axios' Barak Ravid reported.
Gordon will meet National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi, Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, and other senior officials.
He will also travel to Ramallah, where he will meet Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and his aides.
Gordon was in Dubai, where he accompanied Vice President Harris in her meetings with the leaders of the UAE, Egypt, and Jordan on the sidelines of the COP28 climate summit. Harris also spoke on the phone with the Emir of Qatar.
According to Ravid, the Biden administration wants Israel to start thinking about the “day after” in Gaza already and to adjust its policy accordingly, including in regard to how it is conducting its military operation on the ground.
