IDF strikes Hamas military post in Gaza Strip during border riots

An IDF aircraft on Friday evening struck a military post belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization during a violent riot that took place adjacent to the security fence in the Gaza Strip, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement.

“During the violent riot, several explosive devices and grenades were launched at IDF soldiers. No IDF injuries were reported,” the statement said.

“The soldiers acted against the violent riot and used riot dispersal means,” it added.

The Palestinian Authority’s health bureau reported nine people were injured to various degrees as a result of IDF fire in the eastern Gaza Strip, and were evacuated to a local hospital for treatment.

On Wednesday, dozens of Palestinian Arabs rioted along the border fence in the northern Gaza Strip and tried to harm IDF soldiers by throwing explosives and firebombs.

One of the explosives detonated and injured at least six people.

Two weeks ago, a violent disturbance, with the participation of more than a hundred Palestinian Arab rioters, erupted along the area of the border fence in the Gaza Strip.

The rioters threw explosive devices at the fence and several attempts to cross the fence were detected and thwarted by IDF soldiers operating in the area.

The Israeli troops responded with sniper fire and riot dispersal methods. The Palestinian Authority’s health bureau reported that nine Palestinian Arabs were injured in the clashes.
