The defense establishment is marking a number of key events in the coming month: The commemorations of "Nakba Day" and "Naksa Day" on the part of the Palestinian Arabs as well as the flag march on Jerusalem Day.
On "Nakba Day", the Arabs mark what they view the “catastrophe” of the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.
"Naksa Day", of "Day of Setback", is an Arab commemoration of the anniversary of the 1967 Six Day War.
"It is very doubtful that the State of Israel will get through this summer without a wide round of escalation in Gaza," the defense official assessed in a conversation with Channel 13 News.
Meanwhile, the mediation efforts that led to the end of the short round of conflict may lead to the renewal of negotiations between Israel and Hamas on an exchange deal under which the bodies of IDF soldiers and missing Israelis held by Hamas will be returned in exchange for the release of terrorists.
