Salah Al-Aruri, deputy head of Hamas' political bureau, is calling for a new wave of resistance against a possible Israeli move to apply sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.
Speaking before a committee of activists whose goal is to “combat annexation”, Aruri said that Israel should be pushed and not permitted to advance the settlers at the expense of the Palestinian communities.
Aruri added that "there are many young people in the Palestinian territories and if any of them take part in the resistance, Israel will understand that they will have to deal with a very large security challenge."
He continued, "The Hamas movement does not oppose the use of diplomatic tools in the fight against Israel, on the contrary. Hamas encourages the Palestinian Authority to sever all ties with Israel."
At the same time, Aruri made it clear that the Palestinians "are prepared to pay the required price and make the required sacrifices and if they are required to do so, also to die."
Aruri turned to the Palestinian Arab organizations and said that "internal disagreements should not take place when Israel takes control of Jerusalem and the West Bank” and called on the groups to join hands and unite “with the rifle and the rocks to impose the Palestinian will and uproot the occupation."
