IDF forces strike two antitank terror cells on Lebanon border

IDF soldiers on Thursday identified and struck two antitank terrorist cells in the area of the communities of Biranit and Yiftah, the IDF confirmed.

"A short while ago, terrorists fired at an IDF UAV in the area of Har Dov, northern Israel," a statement read. "An IDF UAV struck the source of the fire and IDF soldiers are responding with artillery fire."

"In addition, following an unusual identification in the area of Shtula, northern Israel, IDF troops responded with artillery fire to remove a threat."

On Wednesday, IDF troops struck a terrorist cell adjacent to the border in the area of Rosh Hanikra, in northern Israel.

Earlier this week, the IDF's Arabic language Spokesperson, Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee, reported that as a result of a Hezbollah attack on northern Israel, an Israeli civilian was killed.

"Hezbollah continued today to attack Israeli outposts and Israeli villages without differentiating between civilians and soldiers. One of the attacks brought the death of an Israeli citizen," he said.

He noted that, "The Hezbollah terror organization continues to undermine security on the northern border and attacks without differentiation and while endangering the stability in southern Lebanon."
