Iran Declares War on Its Own Citizens

Internal security chief announces over 6,000 arrests from January protests, warns demonstrators will be treated as enemy combatants: Our finger is on the trigger.

Ahmad-Reza Radan, commander of Iran's internal security forces, sat before state television cameras and delivered a stark message to the Iranian public: the regime now considers itself at war with its own citizens.

"Our situation is a war situation," Radan declared. "If someone who has sold out his homeland responds to the enemy's call and tries to create insecurity, we will see him as an enemy, we will deal with him as we deal with an enemy, and we will have no hesitation toward him."

The security chief emphasized the readiness of all regime forces to use lethal force. "The police are completely ready, one hundred percent ready," he said. "Our finger, like the finger of our dear ones in the army and the Revolutionary Guards and the Basij, is on the trigger." (Read More)
