Hezbollah chief warns Lebanese government to blame if internal situation implodes over disarmament plan

Hezbollah leader: Lebanese government bears responsibility for any internal unrest in Lebanon. Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem condemns the Lebanese government’s decision to disarm Hezbollah, claiming that doing so will undermine the country’s national security.

He warns that should Hezbollah’s weapons be removed, the Lebanese government will be responsible for any internal unrest or fighting that could erupt as a result of the decision. Qassem further threatens that “There will be no life in Lebanon” if the government were to try taking the terror group’s weapons by force.

He says Hezbollah and the Amal movement, its Shi’ite Muslim ally, have decided to delay any street protests against the US-backed disarmament plan supported by Beirut, as they still see room for dialogue with the Lebanese government. But he says any future protests could reach the US Embassy. (Source)
