Gaza City evacuation is 'inevitable,' IDF's Arabic spokesman says

He added that every family moving to southern Gaza will receive generous humanitarian aid, with the IDF preparing to bring in tents, prepare aid distribution centers, and lay water pipes. Evacuating Gaza City "is inevitable," IDF Arabic Spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote on social media on Wednesday. Adraee stated that there are "vast empty areas" in southern Gaza, just like the central refugee camps, and in the Al-Mawasi area.

He added that every family moving to southern Gaza will receive generous humanitarian aid, with the IDF preparing to bring in tents, prepare aid distribution centers, and lay water pipes. “Our forces already control the outskirts of the city,” he said. IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin said last week that the IDF had begun its first steps of its invasion of Gaza City.

Additionally, he confirmed that some 60,000 conscription letters will be sent out this week, with an additional 20,000 to be sent later this month. More Palestinian families left Gaza City on Tuesday after a night of shelling on its outskirts, as well as the city's eastern suburbs. Residents said Israeli aerial and tank shelling continued throughout the night and early on Tuesday in the eastern Gaza City suburbs of Sabra, Shejaia, and Tuffah, as well as in Jabalya to the north, destroying roads and houses.
