ICC arrest warrants against Israel could cut both ways

In issuing an international arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the International Criminal Court has wielded a double-edged sword.

The move on Thursday landed a major public relations blow against Israel. It also opened up the already controversial tribunal to fresh allegations of politicization, antisemitism and malpractice, including by countries that recognize its jurisdiction. 

And it placed the ICC on a collision course with President-elect Donald Trump’s administration. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Saturday warned “any U.S. ally — Canada, Britain, Germany, France — if you try to help the ICC, we’re going to sanction you.”  (Read More)
