These are Hamas's conditions for a hostage deal

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet on Sunday with families of hostages in his office in Jerusalem.

The meeting, initiated by the government coordinator for hostages and missing persons, Gal Hirsch, will be the tenth of such meetings.

However, Netanyahu will not have much news for the families, since Hamas is demanding much more than what Israel would be ready to give. While Israel would be willing to accept a temporary ceasefire, to increase humanitarian aid, and even release terrorists from prison. Yet Hamas's demands are much more than that.

The terror organization is demanding a total end to the war, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, and international guarantees that Hamas would be able to continue to rule the Strip.

A senior diplomatic official told Yedioth Ahronoth: "We are ready to pay heavy prices for the return of the hostages. But today Hamas wants the war to end. We believe that because of the military pressure and the fact that in the end, we are in many places in Gaza, a pause will allow it to recover, reorganize, attempt to retain its stability and bring in prisoners. We hope it will bring to a hostage deal."
