Iran will do “whatever it takes” to help Hamas in its war with Israel, the commander of the Quds Force Esmail Ghaani said on Thursday, according to Al Arabiya.
Ghaani made the comments in a message to top Hamas commander Mohammed Deif.
“Your brothers in the resistance axis stand united with you and will not allow the enemy to reach its dirty goals in Gaza and Palestine,” Ghaani wrote to Deif, according to the report.
The “resistance axis” refers to a network of regional groups supported by Iran, including Hamas, Hezbollah, various militias in Iraq and Syria, and the Houthi militia in Yemen.
“We stand by our fraternal pledge that unites us and we assure you that we will do whatever it takes in this historic battle,” Ghaani added in the letter.
Ghaani was named in 2020 as head of the Quds Force, replacing Qassem Soleimani, who was eliminated in a US drone strike outside of Baghdad’s airport in Iraq.
