Minister Strock: The hostages deal - an achievement for IDF commanders and soldiers

Settlement Minister Orit Strock (Religious Zionism) explained Wednesday morning why the Religious Zionist party decided to vote in favor of the deal to return some of the hostages - even though a few hours earlier, it published a statement expressing opposition to the deal.

"We announced that we would not vote in favor - if the details were as published - and we discovered that they were different. We were facing two central questions that we wanted to examine - the first was whether the deal would harm our chances of continuing the fighting and removing the murderous threat over the citizens of Israel - and if that were the case we would not support in the deal. This goal is critical to our very existence here as a nation that strives for life, and we must not give it up," Strock said in an interview to Galei Zahal.

She added that "the parameters are completely different from other deals and also the terms of the ceasefire are good for Israel. This is an achievement that has been made thanks to the IDF officers and soldiers who pushed Hamas to the wall in an unprecedented way and will continue to push it." READ MORE
