During the briefing, Hagari said that, "Thus far, the families of 242 have been notified."
He continued, "The IDF continues to advance and is carrying out face-to-face battles with Hamas terrorists, deepening the fighting."
"Following a battle which lasted several hours and which included fighting on the ground, as well as coverage from the air and sea, many terrorists were killed. The soldiers continue to bring down Hamas' lines of defense.
In a hint to Hezbollah, Hagari said, "The war is advancing as we planned, and in every battle, we have the upper hand - the IDF is highly ready to respond with force to anyone who wishes to upset the security status quo in the north."
