Four Palestinians were killed during clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank overnight, Palestinian health officials said Wednesday, as Israeli forces moved to arrest a senior official in Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party and raid terror infrastructure.
The PA health ministry said three people were killed in Jenin, while another was killed in Tulkarem.
Undercover police forces first entered Jenin late Tuesday to arrest Atta Abu Rumaila, 63, the secretary-general of Fatah in the northern West Bank city.
Military sources said there was no resistance during Abu Rumaila’s arrest; he was detained along with his son.
The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet security agency said that in recent months, Abu Rumaila had “advanced terror activity with funding of tens of thousands of shekels, and helped wanted persons and terrorist operatives.” READ MORE
