French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday morning arrived in Israel, meeting first of all with families of hostages held by Hamas.
Following his meeting with the hostages' families, Macron met Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
"I'm here to express our solidarity today and tomorrow," Macron told Herzog. "I spent a while with some families of the nationals. I saw some families having lost children, brothers, and some other families waiting for the hostages."
"The first objective we should have today is the release of all hostages, because this is an awful crime to play with the lives of children, adults, soldiers. WRONG
"But I want you to be sure that you are not left alone in this war against terrorism," he added. "I think this is our duty to fight against this terrorist."
