Gallant: I'm working in every way to achieve broad consensus on judicial reform

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced on Friday that he is working "in every way" in order to promote "broad consensus" on the Reasonableness Standard Bill, which would limit the use of the judicial doctrine of reasonableness.

He added that his goal is to "prevent harm to Israel's security and keep the IDF out of the political controversy."

Gallant’s statement followed reports that he is acting to pause the legislative process of the Reasonableness Standard Bill, in the wake of plans by hundreds of IDF reservist pilots to stop serving in the reserves in protest against the judicial reform.
