Explosions were heard over Damascus, the capital of Syria, on Thursday night.
Syrian media reported that the country's air defense systems intercepted hostile missiles in the suburbs of Damascus.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Syrian opposition organization based in London, reported that the missiles in question were Israeli and were fired towards military positions.
A military source said that three soldiers were killed and seven were wounded in the air strike.
About two weeks ago, the Al-Mayadeen TV channel, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, reported that a militia member was killed in an IDF drone strike near Khader in the Quneitra district.
Several days earlier, Syria’s official news agency reported that Israel conducted an air strike in the northwestern part of the country, south of the port city of Tartus.
An air strike attributed to Israel in June caused serious damage to Damascus International Airport.
Satellite footage published following the June 10 air strike showed significant damage to infrastructure and runways which rendered the main runway unusable.
Shortly after the strike, work began to repair the damage and flights have been mostly diverted to the international airport in the northern city of Aleppo, Syria’s largest city.
Russia condemned Israel following the June 10 air strike, calling Israel’s actions “irresponsible” and saying they “pose serious risks to international air traffic and endanger the lives of innocent people.”
