Netanyahu: Message to Biden - We must not return to the original Iran nuclear deal

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu urged the United States on Sunday not to rejoin the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action deal with Iran.

In a Facebook post published Sunday afternoon, Netanyahu wrote that the original nuclear deal with Iran, signed in 2015 during the Obama administration, must not be restored, hinting at fears former Vice President Joe Biden could rejoin the deal next year.

“We must not return to the previous nuclear agreement,” Netanyahu wrote. “We need to preserve the unwavering policy to ensure that Iran does not develop nuclear weapons,” the prime minister continued, alluding to the Trump administration’s shift from President Obama’s policies vis-à-vis Iran.

“Thanks to our strong stand against Iran’s nuclear program, and because of our opposition to the Iran nuclear deal, many Arab countries have fundamentally altered their stance towards Israel.
