'Trump's Deal of the Century paves way for Palestinian state'

David Elhayani, chairman of the Jordan Valley Regional Council, appeared on Radio 103FM and explained his reservations for Trump's "Deal of the Century."

Elhayani said that if the annexation of Judea and Samaria meant the creation of a Palestinian state, he would be forced to opposed the move. He said he would prefer the existing status quo over a situation whereby Israel were to apply sovereignty mostly Jewish parts of the area, creating a de-facto Arab state in the rest of it.

Asked why Prime Minister Netanyahu would allow a mistake of this magnitude, Elhayani said that Netanyahu's world view differed from his own and that the prime minister was in the wrong.

Elhayani added that there is something the government was hiding from its citizens—mainly that the current plan entails a partition of Jewish lands; in essence, paving the way for a Palestinian state in the heart of Israel.
