The Israel Defense Forces announced Thursday afternoon that shots had been fired at an IDF unit engaged in routine operations along the border fence opposite northern Gaza.
No injuries were reported but damage to an IDF vehicle has been identified.
In response to the fire from the Gaza strip, IDF tanks opened fire on two Hamas positions in the region.
