Israel unprepared for massive cyber-attack

State Comptroller Yosef Shapira released a report Tuesday which claimed that Israel is not prepared to handle a massive cyber-attack.

According to the report, while Israel has fortified certain critical areas, such as infrastructure, against cyber-attacks, the defense of other vulnerable areas has been neglected.
Shapira noted that Israel is increasingly relying on electronics that are vulnerable to hacking and cyber-attacks, while cyber-crime is increasing around the world. He noted the interference of hackers in the US presidential election as an example.

Less than two weeks ago, a massive cyber-attack shut down many internet sites on the east coast of the United States.
