IDF hits Syrian army targets

Syria (Illustration)Israeli forces struck Syrian army positions on Sunday, an IDF spokesperson revealed on Monday, following stray gunfire from Syria which landed near an Israeli security fence.

The IDF emphasized that the Syrian fire did not endanger residents on the Israeli side of the Golan, or Israeli forces in the area. The army also pointed out that while it has not taken sides in the ongoing Syrian civil war, it will respond to any provocation.

“The IDF does not interfere in the fighting in Syria, but we are determined to defend [the country] and will react to any unusual incidents.”
