'The stopwatch is ticking on Liberman to kill Haniyeh'

An MK of the leftist Zionist Union party on Monday attacked the new coalition, and in doing so called out the right-wing parties in a sardonic challenge to deliver on their campaign promises.

Zionist Union has labeled the new government as "the most right-wing ever" with the addition of incoming Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman's Yisrael Beytenu party.

"I've put on my Facebook a stopwatch that counts down until Defense Minister Liberman eliminates (Hamas leader Ismail) Haniyeh and topples Hamas as he promised," said MK Yoel Hasson (Zionist Union) at a Knesset plenum session on Monday.

"You are invited to count down with me until the celebration of the end of the conflict," he said sarcastically of his 48 hour timer counting down from Liberman's appointment. READ MORE
