Gaza ramps up mortar barrage, Israeli jets strike in response

At least two more mortars rounds were fired by Gazan terrorists on Thursday afternoon, targeting IDF forces who were active near the security border in southern Gaza. No one was wounded, and the IDF responded with tank fire.

Around half an hour later the Israeli Air Force (IAF) responded to the mortars by launching airstrikes in southern Gaza. At least four Hamas terror targets were said to be hit in the strikes. The latest barrage comes just roughly two hours after two mortar shells were fired at soldiers working near the border to unearth Hamas's terror tunnel network, which runs underneath the border to facilitate attacks inside sovereign Israeli territory.
