Lebanese Report: Israel Tried to Arm Syrian Rebels


A Lebanese news site affiliated with Hezbollah claimed Thursday it had obtained documents showing attempts by Israeli officials to transfer weapons to Syrian opposition forces. 

According to Al-Akhbar's report, unidentified hackers broke into the computers of defense officials, and acquired files, transcripts, phone numbers, addresses as well as secret documents. 

The report alleges the hackers also broke into the computer and tapped the phone of "the Druze official closest to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu." 

That official has been named as Mandi Safdi, a former parliamentary aide to a fellow Druze, MK Ayoub Kara (Likud). (READ MORE)
