Iranian parliament seeks ban on Israeli-born visitors

 MPs want new legislation after Yedioth’s Orly Azoulay traveled to Islamic Republic for report on nuke deal, sparking outcry.


A special Iranian parliamentary investigation into how an Israeli journalist entered Iran found that the reporter was “not a spy,” according to a report Friday, but the Iranian parliament was now seeking a to bar all Israeli-born visitors from the country.

Yedioth Ahronoth’s Israeli-born Orly Azoulay entered the country ahead of the landmark framework deal between world powers and Iran earlier this month and reported on reactions to the nuclear agreement for the Israeli paper.

The visit sparked the internal investigation and the Iranian parliament was said to be preparing new legislation that would “ban entry to people who were born in Israel to Iran in order to prevent similar incidents in the future.” (READ MORE)
