Concern in Germany: 'Hundreds of terrorists in our midst'

Germans are seriously concerned about the possible presence of hundreds of potential terrorists who identify with radical Islam in their country.

Interior Minister of Germany Thomas de Maizière told the Bild newspaper in an interview that German security services know 520 potential terrorists and another 360 people who are designated as "known to the police" due to their ties with terrorists and similar dangerous extremist elements.

The Interior Minister said that those designated as potential terrorists are "on the edge" since last July, the month in which two terrorists attacks were committed in Germany, resulting in the murder of 21 people.
